Background of PEM-ADR Program
Â
To ensure that our ADR Program remains at the forefront of advancements in the field, Gamey and Gamey Group established a professional relationship with the PULSE Institute of Calgary, Canada, which facilitated a collaborative agreement with the University of the Virgin Islands (UVI) in the United States of America. This partnership led to the joint establishment of UVI-PULSE AFRICA, an initiative dedicated to strengthening ADR practices across Africa and supporting national and regional organizations with ADR expertise and services.
Since its inception in 2003, the programme has continually evolved to meet emerging needs. In 2017, it was expanded to include specialized tracks in Land Dispute Resolution and Banking/Finance Dispute Resolution, providing participants with focused training in these critical areas. Additionally, our Arbitration course now covers both domestic and international arbitration, reflecting the global scope of today’s ADR needs. Participants also benefit from immersive role-play and simulation sessions, ensuring they gain practical, hands-on experience in conflict resolution.
To further enhance practical learning, the programme collaborates with the Court-Connected ADR Programme of the Judicial Service, offering graduates a two-month mediation internship at the courts. This invaluable experience bridges the gap between theory and practice, preparing participants to excel in real-world dispute resolution scenarios.
Over the past 22 years, we have trained more than 620 professionals from diverse fields, including Engineers, Medical Practitioners, Lawyers, Banking and Finance Professionals, School Administrators, Media Practitioners, Traditional Leaders, Security Officers, Clergy, Human Resource Managers, Accountants, Agriculturists, and Union Leaders. This diversity enriches our training environment and ensures that ADR principles are applied across various sectors.
Our programme incorporates cutting-edge tools such as Appreciative Inquiry (AI) and PULSE Discovery to enhance skills in Self-Mediation, Managerial Mediation, Executive Mediation, and the technically balanced application of Med-Arb.
